Jimmy Steal
VP of Programming Emmis & Program Director Power 106 Los Angeles

"In the USA alone radio reaches 293,839,000* listeners every week! That's 93% of all consumers in the USA! It's our job to entertain, inform, and help in the discovery of new music every time they turn the radio on...what an exciting and rewarding way to have a positive and lasting impact on our audiences!"

Leslie Fram
Music Director, CMT

"There was a time and era when radio changed the world. As technology evolved and continues to rapidly develop, radio is still a major influence for music discovery, local news and information and personalities that entertain on a daily basis." .

Mike Walsh
Deputy Programme Director/Head Of Music, Radio X (UK)

"Radio is still, by far, the most effective and emotive way of communicating passion for music."

Marc Young
Program Director, KEXX/Phoenix

"We all associate particular songs to key moments in life; no matter where we live or what language we speak. Radio has been and will continue to be the most effective medium of delivering those moments to the masses for FREE."

Ande MacPherson
General Manager, George FM & Kiwi FM, New Zealand

"Making emotional connections through being personal, portable and reflecting life right now are as important as ever. Plus radio has always been the great aggregator - this consumer offer is only becoming more valuable in our noisy, fragmented world. But it needs to be delivered as part of an on-going conversation where listeners can feedback, influence and get the bits they value when they want them. The future is bright."

Andrew Phillips
Media Consultant (UK)

Radio as a medium cannot be buried or ignored it continues to influence all other mediums and reflect societies cultural state. Video did not kill the radio star, neither did podcasts or Mp3's, not even streaming or 'listen again' options have destroyed the 'LIVE' power of radio.

Presenters, Programmers and producers in radio are some of the most 'aware' people in the world. They must be in touch with the heart beat of society, find the language and the songs that touch and connect with everyday people.

The radio summit is essential to remind both individuals and corporate monsters that the human voice is the most powerful medium and without listeners we don't have anyone to talk to. "
